Supervisor Hicks called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Hall, 3835 Buffalo Rd.
Board members present: Hicks, Kuhn, McDonald, Payton, Vite, White, Zelmer
Board members absent: None
Special Guests: Chris Arendshort, townships BSA Insurance agent

Approved February 9, 2023, agenda as presented.
Approved consent agenda: January 12 Regular Board Minutes; January 14 Budget Workshop Meeting Minutes; Accounts Payable- $29,665.66; January 2023 Treasurer’s Report; Resolution 230209A – State Required Poverty Level Income Standards for Property Tax Poverty Exemption Guidelines for Tax Year 2023; Budget Amendment.

Unfinished Business: Approved 7-0 to adopt Resolution 230209C – 2022 Berrien County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan
New Business: Approved 7-0 to adopt Buchanan Public Library’s Library Services Agreement; Approved 6-1 Resolution 230209B-Fire Insurance Escrow Account; Approved 7-0 to authorize Fire Chief to purchase MAKO Breathing Compressor and four storage bottles; Approved 7-0 to authorize Fire Chief to purchase 12 Scott Air-Paks, 12 spare 45-min cylinders, and Scott-RIT-PAK III and 60-min cylinder; Tabled Landscape Proposal and BTFD Rebranding Initiative

OTHER BUSINESS

Chris Arendshort presented highlights of the township’s insurance and the PAR plan including grant opportunities for projects that mitigate risk exposure.
SMCAS has board member opening for township representative after resignation of current member.
