NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER STREET LIGHT
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT BOUNDARIES, COSTS, AND FUNDING

TO: THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE PROPOSED BERTRAND TOWNSHIP LIGHTING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT, AND ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS
WHEREAS, the Engineer for Bertrand Township reported to the Township Board regarding the proposed costs and boundaries for street lighting being provided in a proposed Township Street Lighting District in Bertrand Crossing.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bertrand Township Board will meet to review the estimated costs of such lighting and the proposed boundaries of the District, and to discuss how to spread costs over the properties in the District, and to hear any questions, comments, and objections thereto. The Township Board will then decide whether to proceed with the finalization of district boundaries and preparation of a special assessment tax roll based on the costs determined at the meeting. The Board will meet to review this information and decide whether to move forward with the special assessment district for Lighting at its regular Board meeting at the Bertrand Charter Township Hall, at 3835 Buffalo Road, Buchanan, MI 49107, on January 11, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
Bertrand Charter Township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers of the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting/hearing upon four (4) days notice to the Township. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the Township by writing, emailing, or calling the Township Clerk at the address below.
Copies of the estimated cost and a proposed map of the amended district may be requested and examined at the office of the Township Clerk at the address set forth below during regular business hours any time after January 3, 2024. These documents will be made available during regular business hours until the date of the hearing, and will be available for examination at the hearing. All interested parties are invited to be present at the hearing.
