To: The residents and property owners of Buchanan Township, Berrien County Michigan and any other interested parties.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE the Zoning Board of Appeals of Buchanan Township, Berrien County Michigan will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, January 17, 2022, commencing at 6:30 p.m., to be held at the Buchanan Township Hall, 15235 N. Main Street, Buchanan, MI 49107, for the purpose of considering a Variance application submitted by Randy Vorrath, 16484 Rynearson Road, Buchanan, MI 49107. Parcel ID 11-06-0036-0002-02-3, 2.65 acres zoned R-2, Medium Density Residential. Applicant would like to build a 32’x36’ (1,152 square feet) accessory building, locating it closer to the road than his existing house. Applicant is requesting relief from Chapter 18, Section 18.24 F. of the Buchanan Township Zoning Ordinance, requiring accessory buildings not be built in the front yard unless it is located 300’ or more from front lot line.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that written comments will be taken from any interested persons concerning the foregoing proposed amendments, at the Buchanan Township Hall, at the address set forth above, at any time during regular business hours up to 4:00 o’clock p.m. on the date of said hearing, and will further be received by the Zoning Board of Appeals at the time of said hearing.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that all persons interested in the foregoing are invited to be present at the aforesaid Public Hearing time and place to participate in the proceedings. Copies of the Application to Rezone and applicable maps are available for inspection at the Buchanan Township Hall during regular open business hours. More information can be obtained by calling Buchanan Township at 269-695-6442. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services, and wish to attend the hearing, should contact the office of the Township Clerk, by writing or calling the Clerk, at least five (5) days prior to the hearing to ensure needed accommodations.
