Regular Meeting Minutes
December 10, 2018
Regular meeting opened at 7:00 pm.
Members present; Osburn, Zabel, Gordon, Mitchell and Mangold
Motion Mitchell support Gordon to approve the agenda as presented.
Motion carried.
Motion Zabel support Mitchell to approve the consent agenda as presented with bills estimated at $36498.07.
Ayes: Mitchell, Mangold, Gordon, Osburn, Zabel
Nays: None
Motion carried.
Old Business;
Spring Creek School- The Pokagon Fund has committed to a $20,000 grant with the Township contributing $25,000 and $15,000 form Mr. Turner and the remaining balance of $10,000 from various donations.
Cemetery- A salt spreader that mounts to the Kubota tractor has been purchased for $300.00. The tent & walls, chairs & covers, grass, cremation stand has been ordered for $3582.40.
New Business
Board reappointments
Planning Commission-JC German has resigned. Judy Dunlop will be moved from the ZBA to the Planning Commission. John Kramer and Kathy Snyder have accepted their reappointments.
ZBA- Terri Newkirk will move from an alternate on the ZBA to a full member.
BOA- Chris Mitchell and Joe Bardusk for reappointment.
BOR- Dave Thomas, Ken Seifert, Dave Grosse and John Kramer for reappointment.
Motion Mitchell support Osburn to approve all the appointments presented.
Motion carried.
Recreational Marihuana- Motion Mitchell support Gordon to opt out for the purpose of allowing the Legislation to make the laws to regulate it.

Township Attorney- Motion Mangold support Zabel to terminate the services of Bittner Jennings as the Township Attorney as of January 1, 2019. Motion carried.
Motion Zabel support Mitchell to hire Dave Peterson with Straub, Seaman & Allen firm to represent the Township beginning January 1, 2019. Motion carried.
Resolutions- Motion Mangold support Osburn to adopt Resolution 12-10-02 to Set Alternate Date for the July Board of Review. Roll call.

Nays: None
Motion carried.
Motion Mangold support Mitchell to adopt Resolution 12-10-03 to Set Alternate Date for the December Board of Review. Roll call.

General Code Codification-update on the class attended by the Clerk and Supervisor in Bridgman on the database
Ezra Scott- The Supervisor attended a meeting with Mr. Scott about grant opportunities to improve broadband in the area
Treasurer- The Treasurer stated the laptop she uses for tax payments is not functioning properly it’s about 8 years old.
Motion Mitchell support Gordon to purchase a new laptop not to exceed $1000.00. Roll call.
