Notice of a Public Hearing to extend the Temporary Moratorium for Utility Grade Solar Energy Facilities
The Royalton Township Planning Commission shall conduct a meeting that includes a Public Hearing scheduled for January 8, 2024 at the Royalton Township Hall, 980 Miners Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085, starting at 7:00 pm to consider the following:
1)Royalton Township will conduct a meeting to extend the Temporary Moratorium on the acceptance of new building and zoning applications for Utility Grade Solar Energy Facilities. The Moratorium shall remain in effect for a period of 6 months following the effective date of the ordinance or until the effective date of newly adopted comprehensive zoning ordinance regulating development in the Township, whichever occurs first. Notwithstanding the foregoing, before this moratorium expires, the Township Board may by resolution extend the moratorium for a reasonable amount of time to the extent needed to complete its consideration and development of such ordinance.
The details regarding this proposed to the Royalton Township Zoning Ordinance request are on file at the Royalton Township Hall and may be viewed during regular business hours prior to the meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting, written comments will be accepted at the Township Hall during regular hours, prior to the meeting. All in attendance will be given an opportunity to be heard.
