VILLAGE OF GALIEN – ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 53 – ELECTRICAL CODE

ORDINANCE  NO.  53 

AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF THE MICHIGAN BUILDING CODE AND THE MICHIGAN ELECTRICAL CODE WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF GALIEN REQUIRED BY THE STILLE-DEROSSETT-HALE SINGLE STATE CONSTRUCTION CODE ACT, PUBLIC AT 230 OF 1972, AS AMENDED.

Upon a motion made by Village council member S. Schmitz and seconded by Council   member E. Swank:

WHEREAS, the Village of Galien hereby elects to administer and enforce the Michigan Building Code within the Village pursuant to the Stille-DeRossett-Hale-Single Construction Code Act, being Act 230 of 1972, as amended.

WHEREAS, the Village of Galien hereby elects to administer and enforce the Michigan Electrical Code within the Village pursuant to the Stille-DeRossett-Hale-Single Construction Code Act, being Act 230 of 1972, as amended, subject to approval by the State of Michigan, Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Construction Codes. 

NOW THEREFORE THE VILLAGE OF GALIEN ORDAINS: 

Section 1. The Village hereby elects to administer and enforce

Building and Electrical Codes pursuant to the Stille-DeRossett-Hale-

Single State Construction Code Act, Act 230 of 1972 , as amended,

from the State of Michigan, Department of  Licensing and

Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Construction Codes.

Section 2.   Upon passage of this Ordinance, the Village of Galien will be the

enforcement and administrative authority for the Stille-

DeRossett-Hale-Single State Construction Code Act, Act 230 of

1972, as amended, upon receipt of approval of the State of Michigan, Department

of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Construction Codes.

Section 3.   All ordinances or sections of ordinances which grant enforcement and

administrative authority to the State of Michigan, Department of

Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Construction Codes,

Pursuant to Stille-DeRossett-Hale-Single Sate of Construction Code

Act, being Act 230 of 1972, for the Village of Galien, are hereby

Repealed upon receipt of approval by the State of Michigan, Department of

Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Construction Codes.
